The signs of climate change are all around us-temperatures are getting warmer, giant ice sheets are melting and the oceans are rising. In our part of the South-Pacific island nations like Kiribati and Tuvalu are literally sinking beneath the waves.
In turn, it is hard to turn on a TV or scroll through a timeline and not see the major refugee crisis facing our planet as waves of people flee war-torn and unliveable situations seeking safety elsewhere.
Why does this matter and what can we do about it?
With the help of experts with track records of effective advocacy and action in these areas, Tikanga Youth Synod in 2016 will learn more about the issues of Climate Change and Refugees and look at how we can engage in advocacy and action beginning with our own communities.
